Grand National - OFFSHORE ACCOUNT runs today

Apologies for the short notice on this but I just noticed it was running today.

The hurdle race @ 3:30 at Navan features the return of a past (and possible future) Grand National winner. Silver Birch had not been seen since winning the 2007 National but won a PTP in Feb before pulling up in another PTP last time. At 12 he is unlikely to be improving but you never know. However, the one I really like the look of is OFFSHORE ACCOUNT. He had a decent novice chase campaign back in 2007 culminating in a (somewhat fortunate) GD1 novice chase win. He then unseated in the Betfair Chase before running 2nd in a hurdle race and reappears after a 444 day abscence off a 3-stone lower mark than his chase rating of 147. I've had a small each-way on him for the National already at 66/1 and some on the exchanges at 100+ as he actually fits a lot of the stats of a potential winner and as a 1/2 bruv to The Listener he jumps and stays well. Hopefully, he will put up a good show today and I may even have a bit of the 8/1 on offer for today's race.

I'll be doing a stats analysis later today so keep an eye out for that. If Offshore Account doesn't run well I will have to pick out something else for the race.

  1. I think you made the right choice to go E/W racebets as the winner just made it look so easy. Still a return on the day which is more than I done!
